Identity verification: when the request for documents arrives and what it blocks

In the terms read, identity verification is not a formality of registration: it is a condition of the withdrawal. Documents are needed when the money has to leave, not when it comes in.

The clause was read in 49 brands out of 100, on 26 August 2026. This page collects what those 49 clauses say, how many state a figure and what stays blocked while the verification is under way.

What all 49 clauses have in common

A single formula, repeated in different words: the operator may request identity documents at any time and at its own discretion.

There is not, among the 49, a single text that gives up that right or that limits it to the cases listed. Nor is there a text that undertakes never to ask for them.

It is the most important fact on this page, and it is worth isolating: the absence of a declared threshold is not the absence of the obligation.

The three occasions on which the clause is triggered

At the first withdrawal

The most widespread wording. The account works, the deposit goes through, play proceeds; documents become a condition only when the first withdrawal order arrives. This is how CryptoLeo and Nine Casino write it, among others, both without numbering the clause.

On exceeding a figure

The rarest variant and the only quantified one. Five brands out of a hundred declare the sum above which verification stops being discretionary.

At any time

Present in all 49. Bets.io, at clause 5, goes as far as linking it to deposits too, not only to withdrawals, and listing documents on the origin of the funds such as account statements. Cloudbet, at clause 18.1.1 of its own AML policy, requires independent and reliable identity documents — identity card, passport, bank statement, utility bill.

The five thresholds declared in money

The first three share the figure and the clause number. It is not an editorial coincidence: Bitcasino.io and Livecasino.io appear under the same Curaçao licence number, OGL/2023/111/0069, in the register consulted on 26 August 2026.

The genuinely distinct thresholds are therefore three: 2500 € for a group of three brands, 2500 $ for Rocketpot, 2000 USDT for Empire.io. How the brands that share a registration are recognised is explained by the page licences and registers.

The other 44 clauses read contain no figure at all.

What stays blocked during the verification

From the clauses read it emerges that what is blocked is the exit of the money and, in some cases, the whole account.

Oshi Casino, at clause 12, writes that documents may be requested before processing a withdrawal, that the account may stay blocked until the verification is completed and that winnings may be confiscated. Bitdreams writes that the withdrawal may be held back or interrupted until the account is fully verified, without numbering the clause. CryptoLeo writes that withdrawals are processed only once verification is complete, also without a clause number.

Nine Casino uses the broadest formula: verification may be requested at the first withdrawal and at any moment thereafter, at the casino’s sole discretion and with no obligation to give a reason. Here too there is no clause number.

In none of the clauses read is the deposit made subject to handing over documents in advance. The brake acts on the way out.

How to read a brand that presents itself as «without KYC»

Some brands declare on their own pages that no documents are needed. The commercial statement and the contractual clause are two different texts and often they do not say the same thing.

CoinPoker presents itself as a site without KYC, while its responsible gaming policy reserves the power to ask for documents. KatsuBet writes that playing does not require verification of the account, but that documents may be requested at the operator’s sole discretion before any payment. Mega Dice declares that no KYC is required and that an email address is enough at registration. Bitsler, at clause 4.3, holds the two things together explicitly: registration with minimal KYC, and the right to ask at any time for proof of age or identity documents.

The text that governs the withdrawal is the contractual one. It is the only one to read before depositing, and the only one that can be quoted with a clause number.

What was not read

For 51 brands out of a hundred the clause was not read: either the terms page did not open, or in the text retrieved that clause was not there. In the library 38 operators were read live, 41 from an archived copy of the same pages and 21 did not open at all.

Where it is written above that the clause number is missing, it means exactly this: the document does not number that passage, so there is no reference to quote. The number is not invented.

An empty box in this collection means «not read». It does not mean «no verification required» and it is never presented as an advantage of the brand.

Every wording reported above comes from the operator’s terms and is transcribed with the clause number where that number exists.
